COCONUT

In Asia-Pacific where our coconut products originate, the coconut palm is commonly called the “Tree of Life.” Each part of the tree has a purpose. Roots are used medicinally; trunks provide lumber and firewood; leaves are used for roofing and weaving; husks are made into ropes and mats or returned to the fields as fertilizer; shells are carved into bowls, cups and tools; and the sap of the coconut flower is turned into sugar. The ripe coconut fruit produces familiar products like coconut oil, coconut milk, coconut flour and dried desiccated coconut shreds and chips.

Description

Our Palmfruit™ organic coconut flour is ground from shredded and dried organic coconut meat (desiccated coconut) after it has been pressed to release the virgin coconut oil. The resulting flour has a mild coconut flavor with a somewhat nutty and slightly sweet flavor.

Coconut flour contains fat, protein, and fiber — making it an excellent base flour for functional gluten-free baking. Use it in cookies, crackers, pizza crusts, muffin mixes, tortillas and snacks, or for treats and biscuits that pets are sure to love.
